Sup folks, been busy with a few things here and there for the last couple weeks. Made some cool stuff I can't show yet, but the rest is personal work that I can give you a teaser for:

Got some bad news about the temple scene. It looks like I won't be able to get it finished before I run out of portfolio development time. The scope is just way too big for me to manage. However! In its place I'm working on a smallish sci-fi art deco hallway scene in which the above column will be prominently featured. I have set a firm deadline for this smaller-scope scene of Friday next week, although I will hopefully be able to take time apart from it to sculpt out the Statue Dude I recently concepted as well. But the hallway scene is ironclad. I will be making that sci-fi hallway a completed scene in Unreal Engine 3 by the Friday after next, period.
I also want to take part in one or two of the contests currently going on here at dA but that absolutely must wait until after I reach this portfolio deadline, at which point I will finally send out my work to studios and have some time on my hands until I start hearing back. Some interesting news on that front though, a headhunter for one of the 10 studios I've marked out as targets has actually contacted me out of the blue about a position there, without me ever reaching out to any recruiters yet, and it actually sounds like a very legit position that would be a great fit for me. I haven't got a finalized portfolio to show them yet so I sent off some sample work and an updated resume, and it will be interesting to hear back about that.
Oh yeah, and Dragon Con was awesome. I have to say, I was not expecting to see that much cleavage. Thankfully unrelated to
that observation, it was also great that I got to hang out with most of my bros for the first time in years. Dan can put together some pretty wild Magic: The Gathering decks, let me tell you. Good times! Also: Atlanta, or at least that part of it, was inspiring. I gotta live in a city, man!
