Finally got around to finishing this sucker thanks to a lot of prodding from my bro Dan. Here it is, boss! Now to get cranking on the ancient temple scene.
The textures are all painted. As practice I didn't use any photo texture sources for this.
2,800 tris. Diffuse, spec, normals at 1024x1024. 3D modeling in 3DS MAX, textures in PS CS4, renders in Marmoset.

It is slightly impractical (not balanced right unless that hilt is a lot heavier than it looks; axe blades should be farther away from the hands and they would make the weight distribution even worse)... but awesome looking!
